Nagata-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, 100–6150 Japan ††† DoCoMo Communications Laboratories Europe GmbH Lardsberger Strasse, 308–312, 80687, Munich, Germany ユーザの移動につれて変わるネットワーク環境をユー ザに意識させることなく,それぞれの環境に適した通 信サービスを切れ目なく提供できるような能力が求め られる.本論文では,ユーザの移動に起因して発生す る,通信サービス提供を疎外する様々な事象を “継ぎ 目”(シーム:seam)と呼び,それらを隠ぺいしなが ら継続的に提供される通信サービスをシームレス通信 サービスと呼ぶ. 本論文の目的は,シームレス通信サービスの要求条 件を明確にし,その実現技術の研究動向を示すことに ある.本論文は,以下のように構成される.2.におい ては,まずシームレス通信サービスの要求条件を述べ, 求められる能力を分類する.3.では,そのうち特に重 要な要素技術について,既存研究を概観し,それぞれ の適用上の課題を指摘する.4.においては,シームレ ス通信サービスを提供するトータルシステムとしての プラットフォーム化を提案し,アーキテクチャや各機 能要素が実現する能力について議論し,5.において今 後の展開に対するまとめを行う.
